A New Work of Art

I had every intention of updating my blog last month... REALLY!  But towards the middle of the month we had an answer to our prayers.  We've been wanting to move up to Lynden, WA for the last one and a half years.  Our oldest son and his family have their home in Lynden and we fell in love with the little town.  We've traveled back and forth between our home and theirs for a couple of years now. We haven't gone as often as we'd like as it's over 3 hours round trip.  We've made it for the important events though.

We've looked and looked for the right place.  It's difficult because we had some non-negotiable things on our list for the right rental.  First of all, we have an eleven year old, four-legged daughter, that had to go with us.  We also needed 2 bedrooms for a lot of reasons... one being that I need a place for my creative space.  My husband NEEDED a garage... not so much to park a car in as a place to "do his thing".  Both Bill and I have disabilities and we had to have everything on a ground floor.  The most important item though was price-point.  We had a range that our rent had to fall in.  The place we are in now literally fell into our laps.  The move came together so fast that we were packed, out, and in our new place in less than 3 weeks.  It took a couple more weeks to get unpacked and put everything where it is meant to be.  Anyway, long story short, we have the perfect place with everything we needed, AND a yard for Sydney to be in.  She is in 7th heaven because she has been on a constant leash for the past 3 years!!!  My auto-immune disease is so much better now that I don't have 3 flights of stairs to go up and down several times a day.  We feel very blessed!

On the creative front, I've been working on some new mixed media paintings.  I opened an Etsy shoppe and I'm moving forward with my dream of becoming a self-supporting artist.  I now have a gallery started for my "sold" creative works, and I'll be featuring a new piece of artwork each time I post on here.  Today, I'm listing a modern Folk Art painting that I recently finished and that's going into my Etsy shoppe in the next day or two.

Titled "Sanctuary"

This painting came to me as a reminder that if God cares for the birds of the field, how much more will he care for and provide for me.  This is a 12X12 inch by 1 inch gallery wrapped canvas finished with a coat of Golden Satin Varnish.  Check back soon as it'll be in my shoppe by the weekend!
