An Autumn Song~

I was looking through one of my favorite little books a week or so ago and came upon these words....

UPON these shores of cracked sinewy brown earth
shimmering gold waves lap and dance in rhythm
for the wind knows how to keep perfect time

SOON there will be only a memory of what was
for harvest is nigh; then we will stand
in a sea of nothingness, only remembering

HOW the swallows played among the amber furls
foraging for their evening supper
and the locusts serenade a setting sun

THIS world bent, swaying to life's earnest demands
yields to the wanderlust of day... to night.. to day
with the hither, the yon of the seasons marching onward

Words by Tracie Lyn Huskamp

And here is my cloth, which I hope to infuse with these words as our gorgeous Autumn starts to slip into Winter.  I still remember the glory of August and September, and I'll try and put that into this cloth.  It's 8X20" and I'm using cloth from some of my favorite people!  Some of Deb's wonderful cloth, a bit of silk from Glennis, some wonderful fibers and fabric from Teresa, and some "Magic" thread from Jude  will find it's way in here also.  So, here is my first installment of "An Autumn Song".
