So, it's 10:30 pm and I'm tucked in bed re-living my bracelet class tonight. It's been 5 years since I last taught a class. For thirteen years I taught art, craft, and beading classes. I worked in a pottery studio facilitating the painting of pottery. And then I worked as the gift co-ordinator for Evangel Gifts and Book store in Shoreline, WA. Using my creativity in all it's facets for many years. It was the biggest blessing in my life.
Then came my care-giving years. Five of them... taking care of first my husband, then my mom who was struggling with cancer, then my Mother in law who had Alzheimer's, and lastly my dad who had two strokes after my mom passed away. Now they are gone, and we moved to this small town to start the next chapter in our lives.
So, tonight I taught my first class in years at our local art center. I went from nervous, to excited, to nervous again. But 10 minutes into the class I was having a wonderful time. My students were excited and positive. It was a win-win situation for everyone.
And now I KNOW what I want to do when I grow up! I want to teach. I want to see that spark of creativity grow in my students! I love to see what they've created when the class is over.
This is what I was meant to do!

I am so glad your class went well! I am sure that you are a wonderful teacher! I wish I could have taken your class or been a helper!!!

hi debi! love that you taught class again! i've never done that, but i've taken a couple beading classes..i'm way behind you, i'm pretty much self taught in what i've done..read lots of magazines and books, can't wait to meet you next month to see your stuff~~you're so creative, love this bracelet....zanne
